Had a chance to talk some “Gate City Soul” today on WQFS, 90.9 FM as part of my training to become a community DJ. So far the response to my thoughts on building a regular show around Greensboro R&B history has been very positive. I’m hoping to get a regular spot so I can play some more Greensboro soul, R&B and funk (and more) from the 1960s and 70s, as well as a bunch of nationally known stuff that has that sweet Greensboro connection.
WQFS LogoThanks to DJs Wes, Mike, Bill and Dave for training me so far, and to DJ Gabe the Babe for giving me the reins this morning for a little while. If you tuned in today, thanks (and thanks especially to those who called and posted!) and stay tuned hopefully for a lot more from the Gate City Soul vaults!
