Had a chance to talk some “Gate City Soul” today on WQFS, 90.9 FM as part of my training to become a community DJ. So far the response to my thoughts on building a regular show around Greensboro R&B history has been very positive. I’m hoping to get a regular spot so I can play some more Greensboro soul, R&B and funk (and more) from the 1960s and 70s, as well as a bunch of nationally known stuff that has that sweet Greensboro connection.
Thanks to DJs Wes, Mike, Bill and Dave for training me so far, and to DJ Gabe the Babe for giving me the reins this morning for a little while.
